PROJECT DETAILS

The Pre-K4SA, South Campus was the first Pre-K campus completed in San Antonio following the approval of Pre-K4SA San Antonio program in November 2012. This Fixed Price project required an extensive and thorough pre-construction and scheduling effort, including numerous value engineering exercises, on behalf of the entire team to meet the project budget requirements and time constraints.

This ground-up project was a “fast-track” project consisting of 50,150 square feet of new construction that had a required completion date seven months from ground breaking. The project includes twenty-five classrooms, fourteen restrooms and the Pre-K4SA city wide program administration offices and training facilities.

Unique components of this project included a motor skills lab, warming kitchen and data-room. The coordination and delivery schedule for this fast-track project was crucial to its success.

Koontz Construction turned over this project ahead of schedule and had limited punch-list correction and warranty related deficiencies.
